More finished products

Saw this on craftster and really wanted to try it. I love the book idea and of course I love the little birdies. This project was really fun to do and pretty easy as well. Really adorable. I also used the French edition of Around the World in 80 Days, I thought it was a cool pairing with the bird concept too.

I made this after a DIY I saw on another blog and I wanna do this technique to some strappy shoes now too. I can't wait to use this clutch. The pictures don't do it justice though, its really cool in person. Its a copy of a outrageously expensive Louboutin bag that is 100 times out of my price range but in comparison there is no real difference except for the shape of the bag. Pretty cool, I love fashion DIY's, there are so many more I want to try. Just add those to ridiculous list of crafts I already wanna do.

I need to figure out how to make time...

Pretty things...

When ever I get my own house these are most certainly going to be in it-

I love this. If it would match my bathroom now I would buy it. Eventually it will be mine...

This map art project idea is beautiful. I want to try it now but I have a feeling it will take a long time for me to get it perfect. I might make this my fall/winter project. I love the old map of Paris idea. Here are some other examples-

I really like the screen idea too but I think Im gonna try the wall art idea first.

A now for more crafts-

I feel like I have a ton of projects in the works at the moment. I have my brush roll at home almost done and supplies just EVERYWHERE in my apartment. Yesterday I did score this cute clutch for a project and Im super excited I found it and it was on clearance at Target for 10 bucks! Woot! I have still been hardcore crafting lately....don't believe me? Well here's proof=

Adorable ruffly headband- I absolutely adore this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE headbands and this one is so cute. I got to us the really cute and cheap eyelet fabric with it so its even better. I can't wait to wear it out!

Music note tray- So this idea just sorta popped into my head one day. I knew I wanted to do something with aged sheet music and when I saw the tray it just clicked. What makes it even better is that the sheet music was free! I downloaded it from the net and tea aged it myself! Definitely beats spending 8 bucks for it on ebay. The color took me some time though cause I couldn't get it just right, now I love it though. I might actually use it today since its all sad and rainy out, my cup of tea would look so great on it!

I should have more pictures soon, just haven't had the time to take and upload them yet.

Last night I made the most awesome potatoes French style, oh my jeeze they were soo good, pretty simple recipe and the herbs blended perfectly together, yummmmy!

Oh yeah and a few days ago I went to Staples and found the cutest tote bag that Im gonna make my bookbag. Its this really cute plaid that I had seen when I was there a week ago but this week they went on sale so I really couldnt pass it up, yay I cant wait to use it!

All I can think of now,

New York Times article

I found this really interesting set of articles in the times about modern love for college-aged people like myself. They are really interesting and well written and I think capture the common ideas of of how love is viewed by people my age pretty well.

ENJOY-

I really loved this sentence most- "I tried to remember that no one is my property and neither am I theirs, and so I should just enjoy the time we spend together, because in the end it’s our collected experiences that add up to a rich and fulfilling life."

Very interesting.

Crafts Update!

So in my lovely attempts to stave off reality I have been in a crafting frenzy! woo! I have an insane list of crafts (17 total) I saw while in Paris and I just keep adding more on when they pop into my head....ayi! However I have most of my supplies but oddly enough I'm missing one supply that I have to order or can't find so some projects are taking some time.

But these are the ones I've finished thus far-

My chalkboard menu! Currently hanging in my kitchen waiting for a delicious meal to be written on it. Super easy project only took an hr or two. Did it while I was watching an episode of How I met your mother!

Shrinky Dink flower necklace! I finished these flowers wayy before I left but never had the time to actually make a necklace to put them on. But now I did and I love it! Its on a super long chain and I wore it with a plain gray tee and the flowers absolutely popped and looked amazing!

I finished another project but at night the light in my apartment is all funky so I have to wait until daylight to take a good picture of it! I also have another project I hope to finish tomorrow so hopefully tomorrow I'll have more pictures!

Other than that I got some awesome clothes at Aerie when I went to get my A-list gift this week. I got this adorable plaid nightshirt that I'm pretty sure I'm gonna wear as a regular shirt cause I love it so much, and this cute plaid skirt. I kinda love plaid now especially after buying those button up shirts in Paris! I have all my outfits planned out in my head too, lol. I also got this adorable clutch for spending 40 dollars too, in this pretty pink and black plaid, yay!

Then I went to Ross and luckily I found this really pretty journal with the Eiffel Tower and other Parisian prints and floral designs on the cover! It was totally meant to be so I knew I had to get it! I don't know what to put in it now...hmm.......

That's all I think.....

Harry Potter and nonsense

Went and saw Harry Potter last night and this morning I'm exhausted. I went to the 9:00 showing thinking it wasn't going to be insanely packed and I was WRONG. Why on earth I thought Harry Potter wouldn't be packed is beyond me...I'm blaming jet lag... The movie was awesome though. Although I did feel as though the plot was very jumpy, it kind of went from one thing to the other rather quickly but thats somewhat to be expected when books are turned into movies, some of the transitions get left out. Other than that I loved it, they did a good job of portraying the feeling of how much danger their world was in, very ominous feeling throughout the whole movie. Very exhausting though, today I'm a complete zombie it feels like. The movie is just so intense, after you watch it you need a nap. I definitely need to see it again though...maybe once some of the craziness dies down.

Finally finished off my set of the new PINK dogs yesterday. Got the blue and red one yesterday and I'm done, I doubt I'll get more than 1 of each since I really don't care for these new dogs. More money for crafts I guess....

Speaking of which I didn't get any crafts done yesterday but I did pick up some supplies. I finally got a tiny drill which I always end up needing and a small staple gun. I also grabbed some ribbon for my menu board project and a remnant of this adorable eyelet fabric for another project I have been wanting to work on. Couldn't pass it up for 2.00.

Hopefully tonight I can do some crafts since I have the supplies I need to complete them now. I also gotta get my Paris pictures developed tonight! Yay! I'm so excited to see them! Gotta run to Aerie too and get my A-List gift for this month. Some sort of shimmer-y body spray....hmm... we'll see.

Au Revoir,

Aux Etats Unis

I have returned. Although I didn't want too I realized I had to leave Paris and now Im trying to get back into the real world... major buzzkill.

In an attempt to fend off reality I have decided to throw myself back into crafts so... I have a long list of crafts to do and I have already started some of them. I started my menu board yesterday and it already looks adorable, cant wait to finish it tonight maybe. I have the supplies for my memory tray but I need to figure out how to attach these awesome handles I found. Hopefully I can get my pictures developed soon so I can work on that project soon also.

I've also ordered a French book for another project that I'm super excited to start working on... hopefully it gets here soon. Ahh, so many craft projects so little time and money.

In other non-craft related news. New PINK dogs came out, I only have 1 so far since there are 3 but they disappointing, nothing special just boring with a t-shirt. Oh well I still need the other 2 for my collection. I also ordered this swimsuit from VS I have been eyeing for a while, guess this means I really need to figure out my beach vacation now. lol.

Tonight I'm going to see Harry Potter! Woooo! I can't wait and this makes being back in America a little less horrible.

Back to wishing I was still in Paris.....
