I'm really not crazy.

I swear. But I can't help that I'm already thinking of Halloween and my costume. My obvious choice is Marie Antoinette. It totally fits into my Halloween costume theme. I always do super girly yet slightly trashy costumes. Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland. And now Marie Antoinette.

Yes I already ordered my costume. I have learned to order early cause the costumes I always want are either sold out or ridiculously priced if I wait too long. It was similar to what I usually pay for my costumes so I wasn't too upset, but now I am totally thinking of adorable accessories that I can DIY to make my outfit even better!!! Yay!

This is just the stock photo of the costume, but Ill take a better picture once it arrives!

I make cool stuff ...part deux

School started so needless to say my crafting time has been cut substantially. But I spent all of yesterday crafting in an attempt to cheer myself up. School sucked thats all I've got to say.

Anywho I made these yesterday!

I made this with some mementos from my Paris trip and I love the final product. I especially love the handles. They are so Paris to me. They remind me of my front door in Paris...

I also made this. It covers a plain boring composition notebook. I didnt really like the fabric at first but now I think it's really cute and fun. This was really simple and I made it out of one fat quarter. I know the tutorials call for more fabric but I feel mine is just fine with the amount of fabric I used. I cant wait to make other covers for things now since this was so easy.

Thats all for now.

How could I resist

Why on earth anyone ever lets me into a bookstore is beyond me. I always spend hours roaming the store and I always find tons of books that I later go home and buy on amazon. Im cheap and B&N is expensive. Especially since I was able to get the Marie Antoinette book I saw in Paris for 1.99 on amazon! Woot! I think its the idea of all these amazing works in one place that I could actually buy and own. Kinda like why I love museums, well minus the whole buying and owning part.

Well I couldn't resist this. Mainly cause I was an American in Paris so I kinda felt that I needed the book. Plus I absolutely love the quote on the back cover. Oh yeah and its hard cover...no way I was resisting this beauty.

Its pretty big so now its gonna have to compete with school starting soon......I think it will prevail.

For someday when my apartment isn't sweltering

A friend of mine posted a link to a tea wallet tutorial and I immediately had to make one. I had screwed up a book cover a week ago so the already interfaced fabric was just waiting to be used. Now that I know how easy it is, Im gonna make another for my purse to hold store cards and stuff.

Hopefully when
the weather cools down
I can put tea in it
and actually use it but
for now its just gonna be pretty.

I make cool stuff.

I have wanted to make these signs since I got home. I finally got around to making them last weekend. I love the color. Nothing in my apartment is this blue/turquoise shade which makes them even better since they sorta stick out. Overall it was a really easy craft and cheap too. Per sign it was around 3 or 4 bucks. Tons cheaper than these signs are in stores and I like mine better. Great way to spend a sweltering Sunday afternoon while watching a Disney movie marathon!

Also last Tuesday was the Jason Mraz concert!!! Woooo! We ended up going downtown grabbing dinner at my fav restaurant and then heading to the concert. Dinner was delicious. Biggest yay-we got to the front row! It was amazing. I felt like I was on stage I was so close. Great show, I loved it. He closed the show with Butterfly which made me even happier! Very different from every other concert I have been too.  Plus it only drizzled a tiny bit which actually felt good cause it was so freaking hot.

Pretty things

This cottage makes me swoon. I love it. Put this on the South Carolina coast and I would be a happy girl. I can already imagine it full of glossy art books and the low hum of classical music coming from some room. <3

Something else I find beautiful is these photos of this wedding. I would love love love a wedding like this small, beautiful setting, gorgeous photos. This would be perfect. Its so relaxed and not overdone like most weddings now. Guess I can dream.....

I am a bibliophile

Because of that fact I have a strong desire for this set of books designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. There are 10 of them but they are super hard to find because they were originally only sold in the UK. Regardless they are drool worthy. I absolutely love them and they would look great on a shelf by themselves. Plus I don't have these books yet, well except for Madame Bovary but this set is worth it.
