Headband Love

So I told you I'm on a headband kick. Well here a just a few of the Blair Waldorf inspired pieces I've created recently. I have a lot more at home that are either not finished or not photographed yet. I'll work on fixing that problem this weekend.

Before I start, here is a glimpse into what my living room floor usually looks like when I craft. A crazy chaotic mess but awesome things come from that mess. This week it was headbands. Next week who knows..

I love that I can DIY these. Usually these headbands are $40+, I made them all for $5 and under. I think they look almost identical to the original but a lot easier on the wallet.

That's all for now. I have TONS more on the way.

Blogging to relax

I'm in a bad mood. My phone is messed up and someone yelled at me at work for something I couldn't control. Needless to say today hasn't started out great. So I intend to blog away my anger. I haven't written in awhile so maybe this will relax me.

My halloween costume is all but finished pretty much. I have lucked into a lot of the items I was stressing about not finding. The flowers for my hair I found yesterday at Michaels for 50% off. They are a great complimentary shade to my dress and are going to be beautifully extravagant in my hair. I also found the perfect thigh highs and bows. I hate the cheap thigh highs specifically sold for Halloween cause they always fit really bad so this year I am making my own. I found what I needed at Walmart for just about the same price but they fit so much better. I only have to sew on the bow and they are finished.

I also made my costume jewelry. I knew I had to have some jewelry to truly pull off Marie Antoinette so I decided to make some instead of buying crappy stuff that I would never wear again. This stuff I like and will wear after Halloween. The materials were under 5 bucks and I still have enough supplies to make a lot more-Christmas gifts anyone? This is the bracelet, the necklace looks exactly the same but longer. Matches my costume perfectly yet again!

I just need to find a lace fan and Im good! Halloween needs to come soon.

I also have lots of crafts to update with but I've forgotten to upload pictures so they will have to wait.

That all. Im sorta calmer but that could be the chamomile tea I made, who knows...

Thermostats in weird spots

Since we moved into the apartment I have hated our thermostat. It completely ruins an entire wall cause its placed smack in the middle. Well after a lot of pondering I think I have found a solution. I'm just going to do a grouping. I'm going to stay with black frames to give it cohesion but the art is just going to be whatever I like.

This is what it looks like now. My birdie DIY project, a leftover frame from an old project with a collection of my photos from the Roseraie, and a large print of the Eiffel Tower from my trip. So far this whole project has cost me less than 20 bucks and I think it makes the wall a trillion times less of an eyesore.

UPDATE: I added the finally piece to the collection and now it looks perfect!

In non-decorating news: IT'S FRIDAY! Thank goodness. Also last night I created this really cute necklace that I cant wait to wear. I'll try and post pictures soon.

I also made more notebook covers. I made one for my tiny notebook I always carry around with me but I changed the ribbon so I need to take a new picture. But I did make another one I am loving. I love the Aerie colors. Most of their A-list gifts come with the combination of navy/dark blue and hot pink on them in some way. Well I love this combination and when I found the perfect fat quarter I was elated.

Ta-Da!

It just works and I love it! Now I want to do an opposite with pink fabric and navy ribbon...weekend project maybe?
