Mardi Gras is coming up soon and like usual I'm pretty excited. I love decorating and making some delicious creole food. Overall I just like the fun, party aspect. It just really fun to relax, have a tasty dinner and party a little.
Also, I really love making my Mardi Gras mask every year. This year's idea has been formulating in my head since last year. I'm so excited that I was able to create it, because I think it's really beautiful.
For this year I decided to go with a white-period Marie Antoinette. With the glitter, the large fanciful feather and butterfly it looks very opulent. The white adds this austerity that is very regal but it also has an innocence and angelic quality to it. I thinks that's why I like it so much. I love the innocence and fun-ness of the mask combined with the mystery of a hidden identity. The opposition is really what draws me in and makes it so interesting.

I'll post more pictures later of all the decorations and the party-I'm so excited!
xoxo,
Amanda
