DIY-Dries van Noten inspired wrap heels

With fashion weeks going on all around the world, I'm consistently adding to my never-ending DIY idea list. Inspiration is coming at from everywhere lately. I seriously love it.

These Dries van Noten heels caught my eye and I immediately thought of a way to DIY them.

Supplies:
Strappy heels
XL men's t-shirt

I say you need an XL because you need the shirt to be wide enough to make straps long enough to wrap around your foot. I know that may sound confusing but I'll explain this better later on.

Let's start:

Now you should have a circle of fabric which you cut off the shirt. Cut the circle to make a long strip of fabric.

Measure up the shirt another 1.5 inches and do the whole process again because you need two strips for your pair of shoes.

Now it's time to wrap the sandal. I did this with the shoe on because it's a lot easier that way. Take one of the strips and find the center. Starting towards the toe, take the center of the strip and place it between the straps. Continue wrapping until you get up to your ankle.

The actual wrapping of the shoe is hard to explain. Don't wrap the straps on the shoe too tightly because you want to see as much of the width of fabric as possible. You want it to look like the original. Basically, you use the original straps to hold down the fabric strips. This whole process is based up the straps that your shoes have.

Once the fabric is at your ankle, wrap it around and tie it into a bow on the outside of your foot.

Voila! Gorgeous and sexy strappy wrap sandals.

Amanda
