Glee things I wanna make.

My love for Glee fashions is obvious. Lately however, many of the options have been out of my price range or I can't find them. There are two upcoming items that I wanna try and make instead.

First thing is a headband the girls are wearing during Nationals. It so cute and very DIY-able.

The original retails for 42.00. I can make this for around 5.00 with some satin ribbon! I'm still deciding how big the bow is. It's hard to tell from the promo.

The second thing I wanna make isn't from the show but from the tour. The Glee Live tour started last night and Lea Michele wore this Urban Outfitters skirt for one of the numbers.

As soon as I saw the skirt, my started making a plan on how to recreate it. With some different widths of fabric and a little sewing I could totally make a version of this. I don't have all the fabric I need but this is definitely on my list.

Glee-wind "Funeral"

I know I'm way behind on this and I honestly don't know why. Since Oxygen is having Glee marathon today I figured now is a pretty good time to do my Glee-wind.

Funeral was good. I would have liked a little bit more movement since I feel like the writers have a lot of storylines to tie up but regardless it was a good episode.

I seriously love seeing Finn going up against Jesse, it's super hot. Yeah Jesse is a jerk but he's so hot while he's doing it, it doesn't matter. It sucked that Finn felt beaten down by what Jesse said about his singing and dancing but it made for really good tension. When he said "Lima good" I totally took it as "not as good as Rachel" my heart kinda broke for him there. It only got worse as the episode went on. Seriously Cory was fantastic this episode.

I really liked how the solos were shown, like actual solos one after the other. Santana was so fantastic. She was so sultry, seriously one of my favorite songs of the season. And Jesse-drawing the cat-omg hilarious. He is so mean now and I kind of love it. It's hilarious. It's just so ridiculously entertaining.

My Man-blew me away. The beginning when she sees Finn in the hallway was both adorable and so very swoon. As much as I kinda wanted Rachel to move on, hearing her sing this song and basically saying that she would love him forever, regardless, it was wonderful. It was also fantastic because Lea Michele just killed it.

The entire funeral scene had me fighting tears back so badly. Sue's entire speech just broke my heart. Then finally the scene I have been waiting for since Finn and Quinn got back together-their break-up. Overall, I thought it was handled really well. Finn was finally honest with himself and honest with Quinn. They don't work and he couldn't fix things because you can't truly fix something that just fundamentally doesn't work. As much as he tried, being with Quinn didn't fix things, it didn't make him forget Rachel and the pain and love they felt for one another. Quinn was an escape and once Finn heard Sue's speech and realized how much time he had wasted he couldn't pretend any longer with Quinn. I really liked that as much as Quinn tried to bring up Rachel, Finn didn't let her because in that moment it wasn't about Rachel. It was about Finn and Quinn not working together.

The only thing I hated was the fact that Quinn just couldn't accept reality. She wasn't even that upset, she only got upset when she realized her prom queen dreams weren't going to happen and that Finn didn't even want that life. Finn was finally standing up for himself. It bugs me because if she really cared for him she would let him go be happy, not cling to him and make him miserable. Yes, Finn loved Quinn in some way but she wasn't his soulmate, and you can't force someone to be your soulmate.

I think the most important point that came out of the scene was Finn realizing he's "tethered" to Rachel. In that moment Finn and Rachel went from in love to soulmates and it sealed their fate together which was so amazing. Especially once Quinn left the truck. He was upset but then he felt that pull and looked up to see Rachel going to her car. It was just so wonderfully handled.

We see Finn finally realizing just how important Rachel is to him and then bam! He's walks into the auditorium and sees Rachel walking off stage with Jesse. Just as he realizes what he wants, what he wants stops waiting around for him to realize it. Then my heart broke into a million different pieces when the camera panned down to Finn's hand to show the pink tulip he had waiting to give to Rachel. Seriously broken. We know he plans this elaborate date in NYC for them so this just gave him that push again, and made him realize the kind of epic romance Rachel deserves. Even though the kiss put that overused angst in the storyline, I think Rachel's face after Jesse kissed her really showed how she felt about it. She wasn't smiling or blushing, she was frowning and her eyes were clenched shut because she wanted to be kissing Finn, not Jesse.

Then comes the curveball- Quinn telling Finn she has some big plans for NYC. It seriously creeped me out cause she had her crazy face on. I don't have a clue what she has planned but I just hope it's personal and has nothing to do with Finn or Rachel cause if so, her character can never be saved. If so why can't she just let him go be happy- GTFO Quinn. lol

I seriously have so many thoughts for next week, I can't wait!!!

Glitter Heels

A few weeks ago I saw a killer pair of glittered slingbacks at Kohl's. I almost got them but they were wayy too high/street-walker-y for me. Then on last week's episode of Glee, Rachel wore an awesome pair of gold glitter pumps.

Fashion of Glee ID'ed them as this pair of Steve Madden's.

They're adorable and wayy more wearable for me than any other pair I've seen. So I started searching the internet for tutorials on how to make a pair. I found a bunch of ideas and kinda used points from all of them for my pair as well as adding in my own ideas.

I found this pair of black pumps at Payless for around $14.00. I like the shoe it's exactly what I wanted, fabric pump with a round toe and around a 3 inch heel. Fabric was important cause I'm not sure how the glue would hold to a leather or leather like material. I like them but I don't feel bad covering them in glitter.

Next I sanded the polished heel a bit to make sure the glitter would stick.

After that I made a bowl from tin foil and began mixing Mod Podge and my glitter. I only used about half a jar.

I used mod podge mainly because that's what I had in my stash. Other directions just used spray adhesive or didn't combine the glue and glitter but I wanted to make sure I created a really good bond.

Before I started painting I stuffed the shoes with two plastic bags to make sure I didn't glue the inside.

Then I just started painting. Tip though, make sure and do even strokes. Although the glue dries clear if you leave a heap of glue in one spot it will create an uneven finish when it dries. I did about 3-4 whole coats. At the end I just painted certain areas which needed more glitter and sprinkled it on. I worked on this for a while. Finally once I felt it was covered completely I did one final light coat of my glittered Mod Podge.

To seal it even better I sprayed it with 3 light coats of a flexible decoupage sealer. I was seriously about making sure these shoes will hold up against some wear.

Here's the final product!!!

I haven't worn them outside yet but I put them on and walked around the house and they are still just as comfortable as before. The glue didn't make them too stiff so they still bend with my foot as I walk. Also *knock on wood* no glitter is coming off. When I rub my hand over the entire shoe no glitter is left on my hand-which is great!!!

They seriously look fantastic on, I love them!

It's Madeline and Rachel Berry in one!

I love when I spot something at Forever 21 and I just know it's gonna be on Glee. It happened again during last week's "Prom Queen" episode. For a while now I've had this dress in my cart thinking about buying it.

Then this week Rachel wore it during the beginning of the episode.

I got it last week and I love it. I had to do some altering to make it fit me right but it's so cute on. The neckline is adorable with the collar and bow. Another reason I love it is because it's so very Madeline-like. When I was little Madeline was my favorite! When I first put it on I started singing the Madeline theme song.

Also- the scene where Rachel wore this dress was probably my favorite of the whole episode. When Mr. Shuester told the club about performing at Prom, Rachel's first idea was "Let's do Run Joey Run!"   Run Joey Run is great cause its so fantastically ridiculous and Rachel was hilarious. I loved it!

Glee-wind "Prom Queen"

I have so many feeling about Glee. Sadly though most of them aren't good. So many things last night rubbed me the wrong way. Most of my thoughts are focused on the Finn and Rachel of it all. Overall I feel like they packed in way too many storylines into the episode to give each the resolution it needed.

First, thank the heavens that Jesse is back. OMG Rolling in the deep seriously rocked my world, I was mesmerized. Then I think him coming back and really apologizing to Rachel showed huge growth in his character. Him failing in college probably gave him a wake-up call. He was honest with her about everything and just put himself out there. In comparison it honestly made Finn's actions thus far look really bad. Jesse admitted he screwed up both with Rachel and UCLA, Finn however has never truly apologized to Rachel even though he knows how bad she is hurting inside. Finn supposedly loved Rachel more than Jesse did but it's looking a lot differently now. Through out the whole episode Jesse really showed Finn up. I am so glad the Jesse was able to give Rachel a happy Prom. She was having a good time and smiling despite being there without Finn.

Then its the hallway scene between Finn and Rachel. It just bothered me so much. You can't break up with someone and then think you have a say in their life anymore. I loved that Rachel once and for all put it out there telling Finn that seeing him with Quinn is killing her inside everyday. Once Rachel told him that and then Finn started complaining about Prom really seemed like a way to string Rachel along. Admitting he's not happy in a way gives her false hope that maybe Finn and Quinn are gonna break up and Finn will come back to her. I didn't like it and then Rachel leaving in tears just made me so sad.

When Finn told Quinn she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, it broke my heart. All those moments Finn called Rachel beautiful were special moments because it was like he reserved that word only for Rachel. Hearing him say that to Quinn really negated every time he called Rachel beautiful...

Jar of Hearts was perfect. I was so happy this was Rachel truly telling Finn she was done. The hope that she had for them is over, and I won't lie, I'm kinda glad. You could see she was upset but she really feels they are done forever. It's not that I don't love Finchel but Rachel doesn't need to be miserable everyday seeing them together or waiting for the day Finn comes back to her. That's not right. Especially after the fight I felt this way cause you can't actively want someone once they are with someone else and are finally moving on. That's not right either.

Rachel Berry is 10x the person I am cause I would have hit Quinn back, whether she was sorry or not.

Looking towards the final two episodes, I'm worried. From what I know Finn and Quinn are gonna break up and he's gonna want Rachel back. You can't break up with someone and then be madly in love with someone else the next day, it's not fair to either person. If Finn and Rachel get back together I want it to be meaningful and honest, not like I worry they are gonna do. I seriously hope I'm wrong and pleasantly surprised. I'm also hesistant cause I worry they are gonna try and fast track them to get back together or they are postpone it till season three, either way I'm not happy. Remember a while ago when I said they are gonna push the storyline till people don't care if Finn and Rachel get back together? Well honestly I feel that way now. I'm just not invested anymore. I think the damage is done and I don't know if the writers can fix that. Finn has continued to stay in a relationship he doesn't really want, all the while Rachel is miserable. She deserves better and he needs to learn you can't expect people to just wait for you that long. I really liked them together but not so much anymore. I feel like the spark has burned out.

I know I'm bitching a lot but I love Glee but some times things tick me off and as much as I love it, it still bugs me.

In honor of the Glee Prom tonight...

I present you with my own prom picture.

This is from my Junior Prom. We had it in a suite at Heinz Field, the new stadium for the Steelers.  It was gorgeous. There was a two story wall of windows that looked out over the city and there were also fireworks that night from the Pirates game. It was seriously a dream Prom. I had a wonderful time dancing all night, and I mean all night cause our Prom ran till 5 am. So many wonderful memories...

Glee-wind "Rumours"

I love when an episode of Glee comes on and I can tell right from the beginning its gonna be fantastic. Tuesday's episode was just that. First off I love Fleetwood Mac, so a whole episode devoted to them was already great is my book. This episode really set up the storyline for the rest of the season, and getting that momentum was really entertaining.

Can I just say how much I love April Rhodes?! She is such an adorable hot mess. When she HONKED! Will's nose I about lost it laughing. Then when she talked about selling her Rumours album for drug money-omg-classic April at her best, being absolutely ridiculous.

I think this episode really set up the Finn-Rachel-Quinn triangle perfectly. In the stake-out scenes we got such great insight into the Finchel dynamic. First Rachel flat out asks why Finn got back together with Quinn, and in that moment he realizes he has no idea. This set the whole wheel turning in Finn's mind. Probably my favorite scene of the episode was when Finn asked Rachel to explain karma to him. He was so comfortable asking her to explain it to him and she did, kindly, never once making him feel stupid. This is the cute Finchel I miss. Here is when Finn starts thinking the bad karma from making Quinn cheat is coming back to him. A concept Quinn never seems to grasp even though she does it all the time.

The second big moment was when Rachel talked about forgiving first loves. I like to think there are a few different thoughts playing through Finn's mind at this point, cause you can tell something clicks in his mind from the looks on his face. First off I really wanna think it's Finn realizing that Rachel doesn't know she was his first love and that he never loved Quinn. Next I think it's two sides of forgiveness. First about just how much Rachel has forgiven Finn for and that she will always be there for him, supporting him. Next is Finn focusing on how much he has forgiven Rachel and that he isn't so hurt and angry anymore.

Go Your Own Way- holy sexiness! Rachel was totally serving it up for Finn.  Their chemistry is so palpable, it's insane. It was also great cause Finn was blatantly defying Quinn's ultimatum of not performing and more songs with Rachel. Here he was openly choosing Rachel. Speaking of duets, I think Rachel bringing up the necessity for her and Finn to sing a duet at Nationals kinda sealed the deal on that. She brought up original songs and then it happened, so I'm trying hard to calm down but I am dying for an epic NYC Finchel duet!

Aside from the Finchel storyline. The Artie-Brittany situation was heartbreaking, especially when he called her dumb. She was soo hurt and he was too. It was just so sad.  Also the Sam storyline. When Finn and Rachel took him his guitar I seriously had to keep from crying. *Side note- when Rachel said "This is Finn" I took it as wayyy more than just an introduction. For so long people have been saying that Finn is not the real Finn anymore and in this episode we saw soo much of the real!Finn, so when she introduced him she was also introducing back to us the real Finn. Like this is Finn, not what he has been lately, not who he is with Quinn.* Seeing everyone come to Sam's aide at the end was heart-warming. Those are the moments when I really love Glee.

Now on to the promo-so much epic-ness is coming next week. First JESSE IS BACK!!! I'm gonna need to be tied down cause I'm gonna go crazy next Tuesday. Then OMG the slap. I was stunned after I saw that clip. Quinn seriously slaps Rachel?!-WTF!! I can't wait.

For now though I just have to wait until Rolling in the Deep is released. Oh the torture of waiting....

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

New Dress!

I saw this dress on last week's episode of Glee and it was so cute I couldn't resist getting it.

Rachel wore it right at the beginning when she informed the club she was thinking about getting a nose job.

Here's a better picture of the dress, you don't see much of it during the show.

It's super cute on. First it's a really flattering shape and the bottom ruffled edge is fun to twirl around in. *I may or may not have done that in the dressing room.*

Coming up though, I'm working on my Glee-wind, I have so many ideas to process. Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo too!!! Margarita time!!!

Met Gala 2011 fav

The Met Gala was last night and unfortunately most of the dresses were huge disappointments. I was hoping for more fantastic and dramatic dresses.

My favorite though was Lea Michele in custom Escada. She was gorgeous.
