My everyday style is classic feminine but every so often I like switching it up. Now I don't drastically change my look but I love using accessories to give my look a fresh update. When I saw these earrings in the latest issue of Vogue, I thought they would be a wonderful way to jazz up my usual look, and I knew I had to make my own version.
Earring hooks and jump rings
Assorted sized safety pins
Large head pins ~2 in
Medium sized champagne colored pearls
Jewelery making tools
Even if it's not noted in every step, be sure and complete two of each step so that you end up with a complete pair of earrings.
I beaded about 10 pearls onto the headpin, leaving enough room to bend the top wire into a loop.
Create two of these and bend the extra wire into a loop. Snip off any excess wire.
Cut a length of rhinestone trim a tiny bit longer than the pearl strand and add a jump ring to the top of the strand.
Attach the rhinestone and pearls together with the jump rings.
Go ahead and attach the pearl/rhinestone string to one of the earring hooks either with one of the jump rings already attached or with a new one. Also add one of the large safety pins to the same jump ring.
Now go ahead and stack up as many safety pins as you'd like.
Voila-your fabulous new earrings are done!
