Wow...that was a hell of a Glee episode Tuesday. The episode was good, but it was a huge emotional roller-coaster. Let's just say I was a little misty throughout the whole episode.
Oh how I loved Rachel's neurotic voice-over. I love when Glee does voice-overs because they're always so hilarious, and Rachel's totally reminded me of how much she's still the girl we met three seasons ago. Driven and lovably neurotic. With the season drawing to a close I thought it was a really great reminder that she's still the Rachel from season one.
How hot was Cell Block Tango? Just flat out hot. Those girls looked amazing and the dancing was so good. I had heard rumors that Bieste was going to be a part of the domestic violence storyline, but even then I was so hoping it wasn't true. She's easily one of the most loveable characters and having her be a part of such a storyline was heartbreaking. The end seeing her go back really just broke my heart though. I do like that it wasn't easily wrapped up with one episode, because I feel like it gave it some weight and meaning, but I really want to see a happy resolution for Bieste before the season is over.
The Boy Next Door was just stellar. Simply and brilliantly stellar. There's no way Kurt isn't going to get in with that song.
Can I just say that I love when Finn brings Rachel flowers? For a high school kid he always brings he these beautiful arrangements, that look wayy out of a 18 year old's budget. Him seconding Rachel's statement that she's a star! I love that he is such an amazing fiancee. I love that Glee is giving us these sweet Finchel scenes, they're my favorites.
Rachel choking was the hardest thing I've ever had to watch on T.V. Whenever she would mess up I could literally feel myself tensing up. It was just painful to watch. Then, her begging Carmen to give her another chance was just too much. She was so desperate and it hurt to watch. This episode was more about big events so there aren't many things to dissect but I'm really looking forward to seeing how Rachel comes to grips with this set back in her path to Broadway.
Shake it Out was a fabulous song. It's another hauntingly beautiful song and it was performed exactly how I wanted it to be. Simple and just let the song speak for itself, it was just so good.
The final scene just broke my already broken heart more. Even just hearing Rachel imply she wouldn't be in New York with Kurt and Finn was so sad. New York has been Rachel's biggest goal for years and now the thought of her not attaining that, was just sad. Then Cry although painful was just Rachel Berry at her best. Strong and powerful and everything that we all know she is. As much as it hurt to see, finally seeing Finn comfort Rachel was great and actually sort of satisfying. There have been so many huge scenes for which I've wanted to see Finn be Rachel's rock and we finally got it Tuesday.
Like I said earlier this was an episode more about huge actions so there wasn't a lot to dissect but I'm dying to see how this will all play out in the coming weeks.
To next week- I really need to see how this whole Finn and Quinn prom queen run plays out. I'm really not thrilled at all about the possibility of Quinn becoming an issue between Finn and Rachel but I'm not gonna make judgements just yet. I'll wait for the episode, if unpatiently.

Amanda
