Glee-Wind: Props

That was a hell of a Tuesday wasn't it? Two hours of Glee just sent me over the edge in the best way possible. Both episodes were great and very season one reminiscent and I thought it was such a smart idea to put them together. Let's get started today with the first episode Props-

Hello Tina! I've always thought Tina was seriously underrated and this episode just really drove that idea home. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her next year, I think her story is gonna be great. I really loved her confrontation with Rachel at the top of the hour. The aspect I loved most was that it was such a realistic conversation. The only other girl Rachel has had substantial scenes with is Quinn and those conversations are always so skewed because Quinn's views on life and the world are so backwards. This talk Rachel had with Tina was honest. Tina has sat for three years in the background and even though she knows her time will come next year, she's just fed up. It's understandable because after three years of being unimportant it's hard to imagine things are gonna change so easily. Then there's Rachel who is picking herself back up after her botched NYADA audition and working to find a way to fix her mistake. She needs this solo and despite her progression from self-centered diva to team-member, her future is taking it's rightful top spot right now. Now she tries to reason with Tina to show that although she has the spotlight, she doesn't have it all, like a typical teenager, like Tina does. I loved the conversation because I could relate to, and understand both sides. Every Faberry interaction just makes we wonder how Quinn's worldviews could become so messed up. Not this though, this talk was realistic and it wasn't laced with so many skeletons in the closet like just about every Quinn scene comes with.

Then, unarguably the best moment of Glee ever, the hilarious body swap. I could go on and on about how fantastic everyone was but, easily the best swap was Puck and Finn into Blaine and Kurt. They just nailed the switch. The looks, mannerisms and PDA's were just spot on, it was hilarious. I was laughing so hard I thought I was gonna fall out of my chair laughing.

One of the reasons I loved the episode so much was the combination of the comedy with the drama. The body swap was hilarious but then the scene between Puck and Bieste absolutely broke my heart. We rarely see a soul baring moment from Puck, this scene however put everything out there. When Puck is yelling at Bieste and his voice starts cracking, so did I. I seriously started tearing up, it was so sad.  It was easily some of Mark Salling's best work though.

We had that heartbreaking scene but then we went into the uplifting feeling that Glee does so well. Rachel shows Carmen that she's determined to get another chance, Bieste stands up for herself, and Tina takes the lead and tells the underclassmen that in order to get the spotlight they have to pay their dues first. Everyone is together and on their way to Nationals. The team is immensely more prepared and united than last year putting them one step closer to winning.

This weekend I'll break down the Nationals episode with you guys!

xoxo,
Amanda
